Senior health care communications professional Rosalba Cano has rejoined Spectrum, one of the nation’s leading independent health and science communication firms. As vice president, Rosalba will provide counsel to pharma, biotech and non-profit clients on communications programs and will lead scientific communications efforts for a global consumer products company, as well as lead specific business development efforts.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rosalba back to the Spectrum team, said Spectrum founder and CEO, John J. Seng. “With her insights, talents and expertise in international health care communications, Rosalba knows how to deliver results for clients. A trusted counselor and gifted strategist, her presence truly enhances our company leadership.”

“I’m excited to be back at Spectrum, where I experienced some of the biggest achievements of my career,” said Cano. “I look forward to contributing at this important time in Spectrum’s growth, working across initiatives from client and business development to strategy and capability expansion.”

Prior to rejoining the agency, Cano led advocacy relations, stakeholder engagement and public education campaigns at Edelman in Washington, D.C.

Cano’s expertise spans a wide range of industries, including work with both leading pharmaceutical companies and non-profit organizations. Some of her most recent work includes leading the approval and launch of the first new drug for lupus in more than 50 years, resulting in top-tier media coverage worldwide.

Cano first joined Spectrum in 2001. Among her accomplishments is leading a global awareness campaign, in collaboration with GLOBALHealthPR partner firms in 10 countries, to help identify children with a rare, fatal, and rapid aging disease called Progeria. These efforts increased the total number of children known to have Progeria worldwide. Also, Cano played an integral role in educating health care professionals and patients about an investigational treatment for Alzheimer’s disease, and implemented a multi-faceted clinical trial recruitment campaign for the longest-running and largest Phase III trial in Alzheimer’s disease.

Prior to Spectrum, Cano was a Public Relations Manager and Account Supervisor at PCC Communications and Comunicacion de Impacto in Mexico City, respectively.
